The Spokane River Centennial Trail begins at the Idaho state line and ends at Nine Mile Falls, Washington. Our one-of-a-kind Trail has its metropolitan center section in downtown Spokane, and branches out to more rural east and west endpoints. The Trail's path generally follows the contours of the Spokane River, allowing access for many types of outdoor non-motorized recreational activities.
The name "Centennial" refers to the Trail's initial construction period, which happened soon after the Washington State Centennial. Most sections of the Trail were completed between 1989 and 1991. The total length of the Centennial Trail is 37 miles. From end to end, it is completely paved.Thirty miles of its route are on safe, separated trail (Class 1 trail). As we approach our 20th anniversary celebration, we invite you to join our cause: Help us build and complete the remaining unfinished sections of the Trail. Please click on our Trail Builders link (on the left navigation bar) to find out more about how you can help.
In 2008, there were more than 2 million uses on the Centennial Trail. The Trail is ADA accessible. Walk, run, skate, or bike on the Spokane River Centennial Trail. Or just enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, abundant wildlife, and gentle flow of the river.

We need your input! Please take our 10-minute survey and give us your thoughts on how the Centennial Trail is used and accessed, what the Trail needs, and how we can keep improving it. Even if you don't know much about the Trail, or haven't used it a lot, we want to hear from you! The information we collect will help us understand how best to communicate with Trail users and supporters, and will provide valuable data to raise awareness and funding to complete the Trail.
